A poem summarizing the beauty of Navratri- A Hindu festival. It weaves the diverse ways in which it is celebrated across the states of Bengal, Gujarat and Tamilnadu, the 3 goddesses and their significance and elements of spirituality and Nature.
First Tamas prevails, inertial energy we embrace
Durga pooja, conquering the night, setting the pace
Seeking courage from powerful Nature and Earth
And fierceness from the one who gave us birth
Rajas ignites like the sun, non-stop activities and might
In Garba circles we dance, under bright and festive light
Lakshmi comes home, hearts intermingle and cheer,
Celebrating life, involved but not too serious, far and near
Sattva emerges, O moon (man) you can’t, by just self, beam
Golu dolls stand so divine and tall, indeed, a wonderful scene
Wisdom to break vicious cycles, graceful Saraswati imparts
Nurturing serene minds and all forms of creative arts
